You do have to have a lot of spunk and believe in progressive politics.<\/li>\n<li>Strive to start with a multiethnic group. It\u2019s very difficult to change the racial composition of an established group.<\/li>\n<li>It helps to have one person who is the song leader.<\/li>\n<li>Make a \u201cGrannies\u201d sign and take it to all performances.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>DRESS FOR THE PART:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Go to your closet or the thrift store and get crazy hats and a \u201cgranny costume\u201d. The more colorful the better.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>FIND SONGS TO SING THEN PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Get our songs from the webpage\u2026 songs page.<\/li>\n<li>Being able to carry a tune helps, but clear enunciation of the words is more important than being in the right key.<\/li>\n<li>The Seattle Grannies practice twice a month and perform about two gigs per month.
