Welcome, Prospective Granny!

So you’ve decided to make the leap and become a Portland Raging Granny! We are so glad to have you with us.

When you join as a prospect, you’ll be assigned a Mentor, ideally a Granny who lives near you. Your Mentor is your go-to person for questions, introductions, and figuring out how things work. To become a full-fledged Granny and earn your Granny pin, you’ll need to attend two meetings and one action. After that, you fly up!

This page will help you learn some of the ins and outs of what we do in the meantime.

Rallly: Rallly is an online scheduling tool we use to figure out whether we have enough members able to attend an action. It’s quite straightforward. To practice using Rallly, click here. Once you’re on the page, try saying Yes to a date by clicking the boxes. You can click around all you like. The most important thing to remember is, not to worry. You won’t break anything! If you are not able to participate in an action, you don’t need to respond to the Rallly at all.

Grannies Only: There is a Grannies Only section of this website, accessible from the top nav. You’ll need a password to access it. You can get that password from your Mentor. The Grannies Only area contains our membership roster, mailing list details, and other information just for members.

Guidelines: This page contains our guidelines. You should familiarize yourself with these. The guidelines spell out how our organization works. If you have questions, ask your Mentor. These guidelines grew out of ideas put forth by members. If you have an idea that will help us run better, please share it with one of the Grand Grannies, a member of the advisory group, or ask that it be put on the agenda to be discussed at a meeting.

Getting on the agenda: If you have an item you want to get on the agenda, contact one of the Grand Grannies. You can find email addresses on our roster, available on the Grannies Only page.

Email: We use mailing lists to communicate with one another. There are lists for the full membership, for individual teams and committees, and a weekly newsletter. Once you’ve become a full member, your Mentor will help you get set up. Full details and all the list addresses are on the Grannies Only page.
